Liver problems are present worldwide and unfortunately affect many people. In addition to well-known liver-damaging habits, such as alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle, there may also be various genetic characteristics that can lead to the development of liver problems. The little-known NAFDL (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease), i.e. non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, is insidious, and although the aforementioned lifestyle factors (excluding alcohol) may increase the risk of its development, its occurrence outside the risk group is also known. According to an article published in August 2023 in the Journal os Hepatology, NFADL affects 32.4% of liver problems worldwide, and its occurrence shows an increasing trend compared to previous years.
